Mohali blast: Punjab Police identify main conspirator; 6 other accused arrested

Mohali, May 13: The Punjab Police claimed to have cracked the Mohali blast case and arrested a total of six persons in the case. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Punjab DGP VK Bhawra said Lakhbir Singh, alias Landa, from Tarn Taran district in Punjab, a close associate of gangster-turned- terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda, had hatched the conspiracy. He was yet to be arrested. As per information, Landa had moved Canada in 2017. He is already facing several cases of extortion. Lakhbir Singh’s other associates, Nishan Singh and Chadat Singh, both from Tarn Taran, were also involved. They worked for the Babbar Khalsa International and ISI in Pakistan, he added. Nishan got the rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) from Landa and gave it to three persons.  Other five accused who have been arrested in the case are Baljinder Rambo, Baljit Kaur, Kanwar Bath, Jagdeep Kang and Anand Deep Singh. Chadat Singh, Mohammed Naseeb Aalam and Mohammed Shreef Raj are yet to be arrested. The DGP said Nishan Singh helped the police in the case. Giving further information, the Punjab DGP said Jagdeep kang lived in Mohali's Wave Estate, Mohali. He provided shelter to the accused and had done a recee before carrying out the attack. Nishan Singh provided RPG on the spot. Kanwar Bath and Baljit Kaur had also provided accommodation to the accused.
