Sameer Wankhede, Narcotics Control Bureau’s Mumbai zonal director, who is leading the probe in the Mumbai cruise drugs case, visited the agency’s headquarters here on Tuesday. He is expected to meet senior officials. He had landed at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Monday evening. The supporters of Wankhede holding banners and certain posters were seen outside the NCB headquarters. His visit to New Delhi comes in the backdrop of the NCB ordering a vigilance inquiry into the allegations made by a witness in the Mumbai cruise drugs case of an extortion bid of Rs 25 crore by some agency officials, including Wankhede, and others for letting off Aryan Khan.
