Mumbai rains: 6 injured, flights delayed, rail services hit Mumbai has been engulfed in heavy rains since Monday night, leaving 6 injured and disrupted public transport in major parts of the city, here on Tuesday morning. Out of the six injured, 1 man and a woman were admitted in ICU of Copper Hospital in Mumbai. Meanwhile, a foot overbridge has collapsed in Mumbai's Andheri near the railway station in the morning hours on Tuesday. The suburban train services have also been affected due to the incident. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal ordered a probe into the accident. "Trains on the western line is affected, BMC and Fire Brigade, as well as RPF Staff and Officers, are deputed on spot for support." – the Mumbai Police tweeted. According to western railways (WR) spokesperson C.N.K. David, "The restoration work is in full swing and we hope to resume normal train services in the next few hours.” A double-decker bus also crashed in Mumbai's Santa Cruz after the bus rammed into a railing. The rain showers are predicted to lash tomorrow also in parts of Mumbai and Thane, confirms Indian Meteorological Department. "Due to flyover collapse (Andheri Gokhale Bridge) there is heavy traffic congestion on the road to Mumbai Airport impacting customers. We will accommodate customers who miss their flight, on seat availability,” tweeted by Vistara Airlines. -PTC News
