16 injured as four-wheeler rams into truck in UP, two dead
UP Accident: Two labourers were killed and 16 others were injured when a four-wheeler collided with a truck from behind near Utelwa on the Lucknow-Varanasi highway early Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
The vehicle, which carried 18 labourers from a bread factory in Varanasi, was on its way to Lucknow when the accident occurred at 4 a.m., according to Abhinesh Kumar, SHO of the Kamrauli Police Station.
According to the police officer, it is suspected that the driver of the vehicle was drowsy when it collided with the truck from behind.
The deceased have been identified as Manoj Kumar and Ram Kishore, both aged 30 and residents of Sitapur. Where these two died on the spot, the injured, including eight whose condition is stated to be critical, are undergoing treatment at a hospital.
