4 naxals carrying bounty of Rs 17 lakh killed in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur

PTC News Desk: At least four naxals carrying a bounty of Rs 17 lakh were killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Saturday.


The deceased were affiliated with the South Sub Zonal Bureau, and among them were three members at the ACM (Area Committee Member) level and one party commander.

Bijapur Superintendent of Police Jitendra Yadav stated that the District Reserve Guard (DRG) launched the operation after receiving credible intelligence about Naxal movements in the area. 

The forces initiated a search operation on the evening of July 26, 2025, during which they came under attack by Maoists, leading to a prolonged exchange of gunfire.

Following the clash, security personnel recovered a significant cache of weapons and explosives from the encounter site. 

The seized items included one SLR, one INSAS rifle, a .303 rifle, a 12-bore firearm, a BGL launcher, a single-shot weapon, a large quantity of explosive materials, and other items linked to Naxal activities.
