75-year-old man marries 35-year-old woman in Jaunpur, dies hours after wedding; family raises questions
PTC Web Desk: In a shocking incident from Kuchhmuchh village in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district, a 75-year-old man died barely hours after marrying a woman less than half his age. The deceased, identified as Sangruram, had been living alone for the past year following the death of his first wife. With no children, he managed his livelihood through farming.
Despite relatives advising him against remarriage, Sangruram chose to begin a new life with 35-year-old Manbhavati, a resident of Jalalpur. The couple solemnised their marriage in court on September 29, followed by traditional rituals at a local temple. According to villagers, the wedding was simple but heartfelt, as Sangruram had expressed his desire for companionship in his final years.
Speaking after the ceremony, Manbhavati said her husband had assured her of support and asked her to take charge of household responsibilities. The newlyweds reportedly spent the night in long conversations. However, by morning, Sangruram’s health deteriorated suddenly. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The unexpected death has sparked speculation in the village. While some residents believe it to be a natural outcome given his age, others suspect unusual circumstances. The deceased’s relatives, including nephews based in Delhi, have stopped the funeral proceedings until they arrive. There are also growing demands for a post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause of death. Local authorities have not yet confirmed whether a police investigation will be initiated.
