AAP's Raghav Chadha appeals to Delhi HC against trial court decision on bungalow allocation
New Delhi, October 10: AAP leader Raghav Chadha has taken legal action by moving to the Delhi High Court to challenge a trial court's recent decision regarding the allocation of a Delhi bungalow. The trial court's ruling had initially allowed the Rajya Sabha Secretariat to proceed with evicting Chadha from the government bungalow that had been allocated to him.
Chadha's legal counsel informed the court that he had received an eviction notice, and the eviction process is currently underway.
The plea for an urgent hearing of the case was presented before a bench consisting of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Sanjeev Narula.
In an earlier ruling on October 5, the Patiala House court had determined that Raghav Chadha did not possess an absolute right to occupy the government bungalow. This decision effectively reversed an interim order issued on April 18, which had directed the Rajya Sabha Secretariat not to remove Chadha from the government-owned residence.
