PTC Web Desk: A family court in Noida has summoned Seema Haider, a Pakistani woman who crossed into India last year to join her lover, Sachin Meena, challenging the legality of her relationship with him. Seema Haider, who arrived in India with her four minor children in May 2023, was earlier married to Ghulam Haider.

The couple met while playing the mobile game PUBG and claim to have married in Kathmandu during a prior meeting. Seema Haider and Sachin Meena recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary.

Ghulam Haider, who resides in Karachi, filed a petition in the Noida family court through an Indian lawyer, contesting the validity of Seema's marriage with Sachin Meena. The petition also questions the conversion of Haider's children to Hinduism, as Seema Haider stated she adopted the faith and her children have also converted.

Ghulam Haider's legal counsel, Momin Malik, argues that Seema did not divorce Ghulam before marrying Sachin, making her second marriage invalid. Seema Haider is expected to appear before the court on May 27.

Ghulam Haider initially approached prominent Pakistani lawyer and human rights activist Ansar Burney for assistance in regaining custody of his four children. Burney hired Indian lawyer Ali Momin and granted him power of attorney to initiate legal proceedings in Indian courts.

Seema Haider had left her husband in Saudi Arabia and travelled to India via the UAE and Nepal. In an earlier interview with the BBC, Seema had made it clear that "she has no plans to return to Pakistan".
