Agra man set on fire by in-laws; had gone to their house to bring his wife back
PTC News Desk: Agra Police have charged a woman and her family members with pouring petrol on her husband and attempting to burn him alive. The incident occurred when the man went to his in-laws' place to get back his wife.
The victim's brother filed a police report accusing his sister-in-law, her brother, and her mother of plotting to burn his brother Dharmendra alive.
The man is currently being treated at a hospital, and his condition is described as critical. The incident occurred in the Trans-Yamuna Colony's Tevari Bagia area.
According to the police report, Preeti and Dharmendra married on November 8, 2019. Preeti and her family's behaviour, according to the victim's brother Lokesh, has not been friendly since the beginning of the marriage.
According to the police report, Preeti spent the majority of her time at home despite her marriage. Preeti visited her home three months earlier, and Dharmendra went to meet her on July 18, 2023, apparently to take her back to her in-laws' house.
When Dharmendra was inside, Preeti, her mother Shilpa, and her brother Ajay Singh poured petrol and set fire to the house. When the neighbours heard his screams they raced to his aid and took him to the hospital for medical attention. His condition remains critical.
Preeti and her family members have been charged with attempted murder, and an investigation is underway.
