Arvind Kejriwal bail extension: The Supreme Court denied an urgent hearing on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's request for an extension of his bail in the Delhi Excise Policy case on Tuesday.

The Enforcement Directorate arrested the Aam Aadmi Party leader as part of their investigation into money laundering in the now-scrapped excise policy case. However, he was granted bail by the Supreme Court until June 1 to campaign for the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections. If no extension is granted, Kejriwal will have to surrender himself to Tihar Jail on June 2.

The vacation bench of the Supreme Court asked Kejriwal's counsel, Abhishek Singhvi, why the plea was not mentioned when Justice Dipankar Datta, judge of the main bench, was sitting last week.

"CJI Chandrachud will take an appropriate decision on the listing of Kejriwal's plea for extension of interim bail as the verdict is reserved in the main case," the Supreme Court stated.

Kejriwal sought an urgent hearing of his petition in the Supreme Court for a seven-day extension on health grounds.

"I have lost a lot of weight. If a person's weight drops by 7 kg in a month for no apparent reason, this is a serious issue. As a result, the doctors have prescribed a number of tests. I've asked for 7 days so that I can complete all of my tests within one week. There could be a serious illness going on inside," Kejriwal said at a press conference in Bathinda.
