Birthday celebration turns tragic: Man stabbed to death in Ghazipur road rage incident
PTC Web Desk: A birthday celebration ended in tragedy on Wednesday night in Delhi’s Ghazipur area, where a young man was brutally stabbed to death following a road rage incident. The victim, identified as Vikas, was accompanied by his friend Sumit when the altercation occurred near a liquor shop in the Paper Market locality.
According to initial investigations, Vikas and Sumit were sitting inside a car when a two-wheeler grazed their vehicle. When Vikas stepped out to confront the rider, a heated argument ensued. The situation escalated rapidly when the biker made a phone call, summoning a group of his friends to the spot.
Within minutes, at least six persons arrived and launched a violent assault on Vikas and Sumit. Armed with rods and knives, the group mercilessly beat and stabbed the two friends. Vikas succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while Sumit was critically wounded and rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. He was later referred to a private hospital for advanced treatment and remains in critical condition.
Sources revealed that Vikas, a resident of Faridabad, was soon to be married. He was employed with a private insurance firm in Noida and lived in a PG accommodation. “He had left for work in the morning and informed us he would spend the night with his friends,” Vikas’s mother said, visibly shaken.
Sumit’s friend added that the attackers dragged the duo into a narrow lane before launching the brutal assault. The police have launched a manhunt to identify and arrest the culprits based on CCTV footage and eyewitness statements.
