'Not a single soul will survive': Bomb threat emails sent to 40 schools in Bengaluru, search underway

PTC Web Desk: At least 40 private schools across Bengaluru received bomb threat emails early on Friday morning, triggering a massive checking by the police across the city. Schools in several areas, including Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Kengeri, were among the institutions targeted by the anonymous threats.

In response to the alarming situation, the Bengaluru City Police swiftly deployed multiple teams to the affected schools. Additionally, personnel from the Bomb Disposal Squad were mobilised to carry out thorough checks at the institutions to ensure the safety of students and staff. A comprehensive search operation was initiated across the schools as a precautionary measure.

The threatening emails, sent from the address roadkill 333@atomicmail.io, carried the subject line “BOMBS INSIDE THE SCHOOL” and contained chilling messages. The sender claimed to have planted multiple explosive devices, allegedly containing trinitrotoluene (TNT), within the school premises, hidden in black plastic bags.

The email further stated: "I will erase every last one of you from this world. Not a single soul will survive. I will gladly laugh when I watch the news, only to see the parents show up at the school and be greeted by the cold, dismembered bodies of their children."

In a disturbing turn, the email also included a personal message from the sender, who expressed feelings of despair and stated, "I will slit my throat and slit my wrists... You only care about medicating the helpless and clueless humans." The sender also requested that the message be passed on to the press/media.

The police are actively investigating the origin of the bomb threat emails. While bomb squads continue their checks across the city, authorities are working to trace the sender and ascertain the authenticity of the claims made in the emails.

The Bengaluru Police have assured the public that all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of schoolchildren and staff. Investigators are also collaborating with cybercrime units to track the source of the threatening email and prevent any further escalation.
