Bomb threat on IndiGo, Jabalpur-Hyderabad flight diverted

Bomb threat on IndiGo: Indigo flight 6E 7308, which was flying from Jabalpur to Hyderabad, was diverted to Nagpur owing to bomb threats. Upon landing, all passengers were disembarked, and necessary security checks were promptly implemented.

The airline apologised, adding, "Passengers were provided with assistance and refreshments, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Hoax bomb threats to airports and hospitals have grown in recent years. On June 18, 41 airports, including those in Jaipur, Chennai, and Varanasi, received bomb threats by email. This prompted comprehensive anti-sabotage checks that lasted many hours, but all of the threats were found to be hoaxes.

Earlier, on August 22, a major emergency was declared at Thiruvananthapuram Airport following a bomb threat on an Air India flight arriving from Mumbai. The flight landed at the airport about 8 a.m. and was sent to an isolation bay, with everyone safely evacuated by 8.44 a.m.

The threat was communicated by the pilot at 7.30 a.m., as the plane entered Thiruvananthapuram airport. There were 135 individuals onboard.
