British woman tourist sexually assaulted by friend in Delhi hotel
PTC News Desk: In a shocking incident, a British woman was sexually assaulted by a man whome she came to meet Delhi at a Mahipalpur hotel. The accused identified as Kailash has been arrested in a rape case and his friend, Wasim, has been charged with molesting the UK tourist.
According to the police, the woman had come to India for a holiday in Maharashtra and Goa and invited Kailash to join her. However, he refused citing that he could not travel and instead asked her to travel to Delhi. Acceding to his request, the woman reached Delhi on Tuesday and checked in a hotel in Mahipalpur where she was first allegedly molested by a housekeeping staff and later sexually assaulted by his freind who she met through previous social media interactions.
The next morning, the woman approached the Vasant Kunj police station and registered a complaint. As per guidelines, police have informed the British High Commission about the incident and they are assisting the UK national too.
Kailash reportedly works at a private firm and according to the woman he was struggling to speak english and used Google for communications.
