Mandi (Himachal Pradesh), June 1: Several passengers sustained injuries after a bus carrying over 40 people fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district on Thursday.

The incident took place near Kharodi under the Karsog sub-division of Mandi district, informed Soumya Sambshivam, Superintendant of Police Mandi.

According to authorities, the accident injured several passengers, including the driver and conductor of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus.

According to the eyewitness, the bus fell into a gorge but somehow got stuck between two trees, which prevented it from plunging deeper.

Local authorities sent ambulances to the scene and conducted emergency rescue efforts with the assistance of locals. The injured were taken to the Civil Hospital.

The driver, conductor, and other injured passengers are now said to be in stable condition. Other passengers are said to be safe as well.

The cause of the accident is unknown, and authorities are investigating.
