Delhi's child trafficking exposed: CBI rescues two newborns, uncovers Rs 5 lakh per infant scheme

PTC News Desk: In a sweeping operation conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) across various locations in Delhi, the dark underworld of child trafficking has been brought to light. The raids led to the rescue of two newborn babies from a house situated in Keshavpuram, exposing a disturbing scheme where infants were treated as commodities.

According to CBI sources familiar with the case, newborns were being traded on the black market, bought and sold like objects. Presently, the CBI is engaged in intense interrogations involving all parties implicated, including the woman responsible for selling the children and the buyers themselves.

This operation's ramifications extend well beyond the confines of Delhi, as the CBI has also apprehended individuals involved in trafficking seven to eight children across the National Capital Region (NCR). Among those detained are a hospital ward boy and several women, indicating a network of complicity in this heinous trade. It has been disclosed by CBI sources that approximately 10 children have been sold within the past month alone.

The CBI's investigation has now expanded its purview to encompass multiple states, with numerous major hospitals falling under intense scrutiny. Shockingly, newborns were being sold for exorbitant sums ranging from Rs 4 to 5 lakh, highlighting the callous disregard for human life and dignity exhibited by those involved.

As the investigation unfolds, the CBI has affirmed its commitment to unraveling every aspect of this despicable racket. Further actions and revelations are anticipated as the authorities delve deeper into this disturbing phenomenon, striving to bring justice to the innocent victims ensnared in the web of child trafficking.
