CBSE dismisses paper leak claims, warns against fake news

PTC Web Desk: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has refuted allegations of paper leaks in the ongoing Class 10 and 12 board exams, calling them as "false" and aimed at spreading fear among students and parents.

The board exams, which commenced on Saturday, involve over 42 lakh students across more than 7,800 centres in India and abroad. This includes 24.12 lakh Class 10 students appearing in 84 subjects and 17.88 lakh Class 12 students taking exams across 120 subjects.

In an official statement, the CBSE stated, "Certain individuals are spreading rumours on YouTube, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and other social media platforms about paper leaks or claiming access to the 2025 exam papers. These claims are false and intended to cause panic."

The CBSE emphasised its robust security measures to ensure a transparent examination process and warned of strict action against those involved in misinformation. It stated, "Students participating in such activities will face consequences under CBSE's Unfair Means rules and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)."

The Board is actively collaborating with law enforcement agencies to track down the sources of false information and vowed to take legal action to protect the integrity of the exams.

The CBSE urged students, parents, and educational institutions to trust only official communications on the CBSE website (www.cbse.gov.in) and verified public channels. It also advised parents to guide their children against falling prey to unverified news.
