Chandigarh traffic advisory today: Routes diverted due to Waris Punjab De rally, check roads to avoid
Chandigarh traffic advisory today: People travelling between Chandigarh and Mohali on Wednesday have been advised to plan their journey in advance as the Chandigarh Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory due to the scheduled Waris Punjab De rally.
The rally will begin from Gurdwara Amb Sahib and proceed towards the Punjab Governor's House. To manage traffic and maintain law and order, special traffic arrangements will be in place from 9:30 am onwards.

According to the advisory, vehicular movement will remain restricted or diverted on several key roads in the city. The affected stretch includes the road from the UT-Mohali border (behind Burail Jail) to Sector 50/51 Chowk, and further up to Sector 44/45-50/51 Chowk (Gaushala Chowk) along Sarovar Path. Restrictions will also apply near the Sector 44/45 Light Point.
Another affected route is from Sector 43/44/51/52 Chowk (ISBT Chowk) to Sector 44/45-50/51 Chowk (Gaushala Chowk), extending towards Sector 45-46/49/50 Chowk on Vikas Marg. Vehicular movement may also be affected near the Sector 43/44 Light Point and Sector 45/46 Light Point.
The Chandigarh Traffic Police have also advised inter-state buses to use alternative routes while approaching ISBT Sector 43. This step has been taken to reduce congestion and ensure smoother traffic movement during the rally.
Residents and daily commuters are requested to avoid the affected routes wherever possible and use alternate roads. The Traffic Police have also asked people to stay updated through their official social media platforms for the latest traffic information and route changes.
Authorities have urged motorists to cooperate with traffic personnel and plan their travel accordingly to avoid delays during the rally.
