Chargesheet reveals Rs 25 lakh contract for Salman Khan hit linked to AK-47 smuggling from Pakistan

PTC News Desk: A detailed chargesheet filed by the Navi Mumbai Police has revealed a chilling contract of Rs 25 lakh to assassinate Bollywood actor Salman Khan near his farmhouse in Panvel, Maharashtra. The contract is allegedly orchestrated by the gang led by jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Contract and conspiracy

According to the chargesheet, which names five individuals, the plot against Salman Khan involved plans to procure high-end weapons, including AK-47s, AK-92s, M-16 rifles, and a Turkish-made Zigana firearm, infamous for its use in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

Shockingly, the conspirators had recruited boys under the age of 18 to carry out the assassination. These individuals are currently evading capture, hiding in various locations including Pune, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Gujarat.

The police investigation has revealed that a group of 60 to 70 individuals closely monitored Salman Khan's movements, focusing on his residence in Bandra, his Panvel farmhouse, and Goregaon Film City. The sinister plan to eliminate the 58-year-old actor was reportedly conceived between August 2023 and April 2024.

Key figures in the plot include Sukkha, who was arrested recently from Panipat, Haryana. He allegedly assigned the hit to designated shooter Ajay Kashyap, also known as AK, along with four accomplices involved in the conspiracy. A reconnaissance mission conducted by Kashyap and his team indicated that due to the actor's extensive security measures and use of bulletproof vehicles, sophisticated weaponry would be necessary to execute the murder.

Arms deal and escape plan

Sukkha reportedly made contact with a Pakistan-based arms dealer named Dogar via video call, showcasing the AK-47 and other advanced firearms wrapped in a shawl while negotiating the terms of the arms deal. The arms dealer agreed to supply the weapons, with Sukkha committing to a 50 per cent advance payment, with the remaining amount to be settled upon delivery in India.

The police further uncovered that all shooters were awaiting a signal from Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi. The chargesheet outlines a getaway plan for the shooters to convene in Kanyakumari after the assassination. From there, they intended to travel by boat to Sri Lanka and then on to a destination beyond the reach of Indian law enforcement agencies.

This conspiracy came to light during the investigation of a firing incident that occurred outside Salman Khan's Bandra residence. Following the recent killing of Baba Siddique, a former minister and NCP leader, security measures have been significantly heightened around Khan's Bandra home. Siddique, who had served as an MLA from Bandra and was affiliated with Ajit Pawar's faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), was shot near Nirmal Nagar in Bandra, raising concerns over the safety of public figures.

The police's swift action in unearthing this assassination plot underscores the serious threat that Salman Khan faces. The connections to notorious gangsters and the level of planning involved in this conspiracy highlight the escalating concerns surrounding celebrity safety in Mumbai and beyond.
