Cockroach Janata Party calls for Parliament march on July 20: 'Moving closer to govt so that they can hear us'
PTC News Desk: The Cockroach Janata Party on Thursday announced that it would hold a peaceful march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament on July 20, the opening day of the Monsoon Session.
The announcement was made on the 11th day of Wangchuk's indefinite hunger strike. He appealed to people across the country to join the proposed march, saying Parliament is the right place to raise students' concerns and seek accountability.
CJP spokesperson Vijeta Dhaiya said that the march aims to remain peaceful while putting pressure on the government. "Since the government is not accepting our demand for Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation, we want to take our protest closer to Parliament so our voices are heard," she said.
In his message to supporters, Wangchuk urged people to participate in the march instead of only expressing support from home. He said that if people truly wanted him to stay alive, they should join him in a peaceful march to Parliament so their voices could be heard where laws are made.
The organisers said the march would be held in memory of students who lost their lives due to what they described as repeated failures in India's examination system. Students, parents and citizens from across the country have been invited to take part.
They added that they plan to present their demands directly to lawmakers during the demonstration.
