Defence Secretary meets PM Modi amid buzz over India's military response to Pahalgam attack
PTC News Desk: Amid PM Modi's ongoing meetings with top officials at his residence, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh met Prime Minister at his residence to discuss the current situation in the wake of the Pahalgam Terror Attack.
The meeting also comes ahead of the United Nations Security Council session to discuss India-Pakistan tensions. Pakistan, a non-permanent UNSC member, had sought the emergency meeting.
This is the third high profile meeting convened by PM Modi in the past few days. Earlier he met the Navy and the Indian Air Force chiefs and took stock of the security arrangements.
The meeting comes a day after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said "you will get the response you are seeking". Singh on Sunday told a gathering that it was his duty to stand with the armed forces at this juncture. He also referred to PM Modi's risk-taking capacities.
Earlier in a meeting with the chiefs of all the armed forces, PM Modi granted complete operational freedom to carry out the military strike at any moment.
