Delhi Chief Minister Atishi tenders resignation to LG VK Saxena following AAP's electoral defeat

PTC News Desk: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Marlena Singh on Sunday tendered her resignation to Lt. Governor VK Saxena after Aam Aadmi Party's electoral defeat against BJP on Saturday.

Further Delhi LG has directed to dissolve the seventh assembly.

AAP witnessed a massive jolt in 2025 assembly elections after achieving sweeping victory in the 70-member Delhi assembly in both 2015 and 2020 election. Whereas Bhartiya Janata Party ended its political exile in the national capital after 27 years with 48 seats mandate while restricting AAP to 22 seats.

While most of the partys heavyweights suffered a massive defeat, Atishi managed to save party's grace retaining her Kalkaji seat. She defeated BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress’s Alka Lamba, maintaining her position from the 2020 elections.

Following the party's defeat, Atishi said that the war against BJP would continue, adding that AAP's fight against dictatorship and hooliganism will also continue.
