Delhi experiences continued coldwave, some states witness moderate fog

PTC News Desk: Coldwave conditions continued to prevail in Delhi and its neighboring states on Monday, contributing to dense fog in isolated pockets. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted mainly clear skies for the day.

As of 11:30 pm on Sunday, dense fog was reported in isolated pockets of Bihar, while moderate fog was observed in isolated pockets of East Uttar Pradesh. The meteorological department also noted moderate fog in isolated areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and West Uttar Pradesh.


The weather outlook for Ayodhya, where the inauguration of the Ram Mandir is scheduled for today, predicts clear skies with temperatures ranging between 6 to 8 degrees Celsius. No precipitation is expected in the temple town for the day. On Sunday, Delhi experienced a maximum temperature of 15.8 degrees Celsius, which is five degrees below the season's average. The minimum temperature recorded was 4.8 degrees Celsius, with a humidity level of 71 percent at 5:30 pm.

Foggy conditions disrupted the schedule of 11 Delhi-bound trains on Sunday, causing delays of up to four hours, as reported by the railways. The weather forecast for January 22 includes a mainly clear sky, dense to very dense fog, and cold day conditions, according to the weather office.
