PTC News Desk: The municipal corporation of Delhi reported 56 new dengue cases in the previous week on Monday. The overall number of cases was 243 as of July 28.

According to the municipal corporation's report, 72 malaria cases were documented between January 1 and July 28. 169 dengue cases were reported in the national capital during the same time period.

So far in July, there have been 121 dengue cases. The figure has only risen in the previous two months, with 40 dengue cases in June and 23 in May.

Symptoms

Symptoms of dengue begin to surface within 6 days of infection

High fever

Severe headaches

Nausea

Fatigue

Joint and muscle pain

Rashes on the skin

Patients often experience mild bleeding

People often confuse mild dengue symptoms with viral infections or the flu. Dengue fever, if not treated quickly and correctly, can result in health concerns such as hemorrhagic fever. This can cause lymph and blood vessel damage, liver enlargement, circulatory system failure, high fever, and nose and gum bleeding. Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS) is a disorder in which the symptoms can cause major bleeding, shock, and death.

Preventive measures

Even if you are at home, increase your use of mosquito repellents. Make sure you properly cover yourself whenever you go outside. Do not walk through grassy areas, especially at night.
