According to the statement, the reason for the Covid spike in our country could be—Relaxation of Covid-19 appropriate behaviour. Many people let their guard down when it came to the coronavirus.

Individuals who were experiencing symptoms refused to be tested. According to the statement, this may have allowed the virus to spread undetected and infect more people.

According to the statement, "The vaccination drive has developed a false sense of security, and so we lowered the guard against the infection."

Leading epidemiologists and virologists believe that the new Covid variant XBB.1.16 is to blame for the rise in these cases.

Pregnant women, people over the age of 60, people with chronic illnesses, and people with underlying health issues who are immunocompromised are at higher risk of severe illness and fatalities from COVID-19.

"People with symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, headache, body ache, loss of smell or taste, breathlessness should get tested for corona," the statement added.
