Faridabad bank manager rescued after gunpoint kidnapping and 800-km drive

PTC News Desk: A bank manager from Faridabad, abducted at gunpoint from his residence on Saturday, has been safely rescued thanks to the swift action of Haryana police's crime branch. The investigation has unveiled a harrowing scheme in which the kidnappers bound Satish and transported him over 800 km, first to Bilaspur and then to Mathura.

The orchestrator behind this plan appears to be Bhupendra, Satish's former tenant, who had fallen on hard times. Bhupendra, along with his wife and accomplice Ravindra, meticulously plotted the kidnapping, taking advantage of their familiarity with Satish's household routines and surroundings.

Late on Saturday night, Bhupendra, armed with a gun, stormed into Satish's home where he, along with his wife and a friend, were present. A struggle ensued, during which Bhupendra assaulted Satish's friend Amit with a hammer. Subsequently, Bhupendra coerced Satish into driving to Rohini, where Ravindra joined them. Satish was then transferred to a cab, restrained and gagged, as the kidnappers embarked on a journey to Himachal Pradesh.

During this ordeal, Bhupendra's wife accompanied them in the front seat, disguising the situation as a family outing. Meanwhile, Bhupendra made ransom demands of Rs 50 lakh from Satish's family, eventually settling for Rs 5 lakh. However, police were already in pursuit, and a meticulous operation was underway to trace the culprits and secure Satish's release.

In a dramatic turn of events, Bhupendra was apprehended by the crime branch team while attempting to collect the ransom. Upon interrogation, he divulged Satish's whereabouts in Mathura, where Ravindra was keeping him captive. Satish was promptly rescued by the police, albeit with injuries sustained during the ordeal.

Bhupendra confessed to the authorities that desperation for financial stability drove him to orchestrate the crime. Police have since recovered the ransom money, firearms, and the vehicle used in the abduction. Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend Ravindra, who is currently on the run.
