Floodwater waist-deep, parents carry infant overhead to safety in UP's Prayagraj
PTC News Desk: A heart-wrenching video from Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj district has surfaced showing a couple navigating through waist-deep flood water while holding their infant above their heads to keep him safe.
The incident is reportedly of Chhota Baghada area showing desperation of residents as floodwater continue to rise drawing widespread attention . In the footage, houses, temples, and vehicles appear submerged, with piles of garbage floating around. Several residents can be seen evacuating through the water, carrying essentials and family members to safety.
The situation in Prayagraj has turned critical with continuous rainfall breaching the dangerous mark in both Ganga and Yamuna. Several areas in the city were flooded, with many homes filled with rainwater.

The impact of floods have even brought the funeral services to standstill with authorities forced to halt last rites at Rasulabad Ghat, which is also under water.
Local resident meanwhile continue to battle heavy rains with no respite in sight as the rains continue to wreak havoc.
According to official data, floods in Uttar Pradesh had affected 402 villages in 37 tehsils, impacting 84,392 people till Sunday. Seventeen districts -- Kanpur Nagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Agra, Auraiya, Chitrakoot, Ballia, Banda, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Chandauli, Jalaun, Kanpur Dehat, Hamirpur, Etawah and Fatehpur -- have been impacted.
