From Varanasi to Netherlands: Wandering in the streets of Varanasi, this female stray dog may be local, but now she is no more an ordinary dog.
Raised on lanes of Varanasi, Jaya, a female street dog from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh caught the attention of foreigner from Netherlands, who saw all those qualities in Jaya, which we often ignore by calling them stray dogs now will soon fly out of the country for uncharted shores and to enjoy her life.
The fortune and prospect of Jaya, a female street dog from Varanasi have risen as from wandering the streets of Varanasi until yesterday, she will now travel abroad to live a privileged and luxurious life with more beloved people and owner.
Visa, passport, geotagging, and all other formalities have been done and soon Jaya to fly abroad with her new owner from the Netherlands.
The native of Amsterdam, Meral Bontenbel travelled to India approximately six months ago to explore the culture, tradition, food and streets of India and while exploring the streets of Varanasi female street dog Jaya caught her attention.
Recalling her meet with Jaya, , Meral Bontenbel said, As I was walking around idly one day (along with her co-travellers), Jaya walked up to us. She was very sweet and I fell for her. I cuddled her and she tagged along with us thereafter. She started following us around. Then, one day, she was attacked by another dog on the street." "A guard came forward and saved her. I hadn't initially planned to adopt her. I simply wanted to get her off the streets," she added.
Assuming the custodianship of Jaya, Meral Bontenbel said that she had always wanted to bring home a pet and fell helplessly in love with the street dog from Varanasi during a visit to the temple town and in order to do that she extended her stay in India for six months to arrange a passport and visa for her beloved Jaya.
"I'm really happy to finally be able to take her along with me. It was a long-drawn process. I had to wait six months to get her to this point. I have always wanted to have a dog and I fell in love with her the first time she walked up to me," she further added.
This can be depicted as the perfect example of connection and bond between humans and animals and is winning hearts all across social media. Such selfless acts of kindness continue to make the world a better place by inspiring hundreds of people to do their part and make their surroundings more welcoming to all kinds of animals.
