Guru Randhawa gym firing case: Two accused injured in police encounter in Delhi's Paschim Vihar
PTC News Desk: Two accused, alleged members of Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, arrested after they were injured in a brief exchange of fire with Delhi Police Special Cell in Paschim Vihar in connection with the firing outside a gym owned by Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa, officials said.
The accused, identified as Haqeeqat and Sagar, had been absconding since the June 11 attack. According to police, they arrived in west Delhi on Wednesday night to carry out another crime when Special Cell officers intercepted them based on intelligence inputs.
Police said the suspects allegedly opened fire when they saw the officers, leading to a brief exchange of gunfire. Both men suffered bullet injuries to their legs during the encounter and were subsequently arrested. Weapons were recovered from their possession.
Earlier, two other accused in the case — Arman (19) and Tushar (21), both from Haryana's Sonepat district — were arrested by the Crime Branch in Bahadurgarh.
Investigators believe all four accused are linked to gangster Anil Pandit, an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang who is reportedly based in the United States.
After the gym firing incident, Pandit allegedly claimed responsibility through a social media post. According to investigators, the attack was carried out because of Guru Randhawa's alleged close association with actor Salman Khan, who has long been considered a target by the Bishnoi gang.
The case remains under investigation, and police are continuing efforts to uncover the broader network behind the attack.
