Haryana accident: Four killed, 3 injured as Haryana Roadways bus rams into Pickup in Kaithal
PTC Web Desk: In a tragic accident on Monday morning, a Haryana Roadways bus collided with a pickup vehicle near Keorak village in Kaithal, Haryana, leaving four persons dead and three others critically injured.
The victims, all residents of Faridkot district in Punjab were travelling to Pehowa in Kurukshetra to attend a religious ceremony. The deceased have been identified as Narendra (62), Hakikat (57), Kaku Singh (67), and Makhan Singh (60).
According to information, seven persons had set out from Faridkot on Sunday evening to participate in the annual Barsi (death anniversary) of Baba Dilip Singh, Jiwan Singh, and Jangir Singh in Pehowa. Due to late-night travel, they halted at Manji Sahib Gurdwara in Kaithal. On Monday morning around 6 am, while resuming their journey, their pickup was hit from behind by a high-speed bus belonging to the Hisar depot of Haryana Roadways near a Reliance fuel station. The impact overturned the vehicle, leading to multiple casualties.
The police from Sadar police station rushed to the site and shifted the victims to Kaithal Civil Hospital. Three injured persons — Tara Singh (65), Kulwant Singh (70), and Mandar Singh (55) — were later referred to PGI Chandigarh in critical condition.
The police have launched an investigation into the accident, while the bodies were handed over to their families after post-mortem.
