Himachal Cloudburst: 10 students, including 4 promising sports stars, missing in cloudburst
PTC News Desk: After a cloudburst on Wednesday night caused flash floods in a Himachal Pradesh village, about ten children from a government school vanished.
Four of the ten missing pupils from the Government Senior Secondary School in Samej hamlet, close to Shimla, are bright athletes: two are volleyball players at the state level and the other two are shuttlers at the district level.
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, also went to the village and interacted with the school's pupils. The youngsters asked the Chief Minister for help in finding their missing classmates.
In the Himachal Pradesh regions of Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla, the flash floods caused extensive damage. More than sixty houses in the area were washed away, and several villages suffered significant damage, a senior official told the news agency PTI.

Currently, relief and rescue efforts are underway in places hit by flooding, such as Samej hamlet near Rampur in Shimla. Minister for Himachal Pradesh Vikramaditya Singh stated on Saturday that the official death toll can only be determined until rescue efforts have been completed, with about fifty people being thought dead.
Mr. Singh added that recovering the bodies and reestablishing communication in the impacted areas are the state government's top priorities.
