HRTC suspends 10 routes to Punjab; Sikh organisations launch protest, march towards Himachal border
After the vandalism of Haryana Road Transport Corporation bus in Kharar last night, HRTC) has suspended 10 routes to Punjab. Meanwhile Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today said that he had spoken to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan, who had assured to take strict action against the miscreants.
"The DGP-level officers will discuss to take action on the issue," the Chief Minister said, adding that police security will be provided to the buses if required.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, who is also the Minister of transport said that the government is in touch with the Punjab government over the matter. He further said that the state government has deployed corporation officials at all the bus stands to take cognisance of the situation.
A case has been registered at Kharar police station in connection with the vandalism of HRTC bus in Kharar last night and Mohali SSP has assured security to the HRTC buses.
Meanwhile the row over removal of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale's pictures has been accelarated as Sikh organisations launched a protest against Himachal authorities' action and mached towards Punjab Himachal border however they were stopped by Punjab police . A large number of police have been deployed in view of the tense situation.
