20 killed as Hyderabad-Bengaluru bus catches fire in Andhra, death toll likely to rise

PTC News Desk: At least 20 people were killed in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district early Friday after a private travel bus burst into flames after colliding with a two-wheeler near Chinnatekur.


Initial reports indicate that about 40 passengers were on board. Of them, 18 have been confirmed to have survived. Police said many of the victims were burned beyond recognition, complicating identification efforts.

According to officials, the accident occurred around 3:30 a.m., when the collision between the bus and the two-wheeler sparked a massive fire that rapidly engulfed the entire vehicle.
