'Pak's duplicity exposed': India's stern response over reports of Masood Azhar's public speech
PTC News Desk: India on Friday slammed Pakistan over Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar's speech at a public gathering in Bahawalpur. Meanwhile India has demanded a stringent action from Pakistan against Masood Azhar who is designated mastermind of 2011 Parliament attack.
India's rebuke comes after reports surfaced that Masood Azhar delivered a public speech during which he vowed continue attacks on India.
"We demand that strong action be taken against him (Azhar) and he should be brought to justice. There has been denial that he is not there in Pakistan," the ministry’s spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.
"If the reports are correct, then it exposes the duplicity of Pakistan. Masood Azhar is involved in cross-border terror attacks on India and we want that strong action be taken against him," he added.
Azhar is a designated terrorist by United Nations Security Council in May 2019. In India, Azhar has been linked to several major attacks, including the 2001 Parliament attack, the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, the 2001 assault on the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly complex that resulted in 38 deaths, the 2016 Pathankot attack, and multiple terrorist strikes on BSF camps in locations such as Srinagar, Pulwama, and Jammu, among others.
