IndiGo Airbus A321 tail scrapes runway during go-around at Mumbai airport
PTC Web Desk: An IndiGo Airbus A321 aircraft experienced a tail strike at Mumbai Airport on Friday while performing a go-around at low altitude due to adverse weather conditions in the city.
According to the airline, the aircraft later made a safe landing after a second approach. IndiGo confirmed that the plane will undergo mandatory inspections, repairs, and regulatory approvals before being cleared for service.
“The tail of an IndiGo Airbus A321 touched the runway during a go-around at Mumbai Airport on August 16, 2025, because of unfavorable weather. The aircraft subsequently landed safely after another approach,” the airline spokesperson said.
The spokesperson further emphasised that passenger and crew safety remains the airline’s highest priority. “IndiGo is taking all necessary measures to minimise any operational disruptions caused by this incident,” the statement added.
