PTC News Desk: In response to the recent assault incident against an IndiGo pilot, the airline has taken swift action by establishing an internal committee to address the matter. The committee's primary task is to determine appropriate measures, including the consideration of placing the accused passenger, Sahil Kataria, on the 'No Fly List' under the category of unruly behaviour.
A senior IndiGo official stated, "We have established an internal committee, and the incident has been referred to it. The committee will determine appropriate action against the passenger, including the possibility of placing him on the 'No Fly List' under the unruly behaviour category."
A passenger punched an Indigo capt in the aircraft as he was making delay announcement. The guy ran up from the last row and punched the new Capt who replaced the previous crew who crossed FDTL. Unbelievable ! @DGCAIndia @MoCA_GoI pic.twitter.com/SkdlpWbaDd — Capt_Ck (@Capt_Ck) January 14, 2024
The distressing incident unfolded on flight number 6E 2175 departing from Delhi to Goa on Sunday. A viral video captured the agitated passenger, Sahil Kataria, physically assaulting the co-pilot, Anup Kumar, while he was making an announcement about the flight delay. In the video, the co-pilot is seen addressing passengers when the passenger, adorned in a yellow jacket, abruptly approaches and slaps him.

A flight attendant promptly intervenes, shielding the co-pilot from further harm. The commotion continues as another individual pulls the unruly passenger away, while the flight attendant admonishes, "You can't do this; you can't do this."
The Delhi police have initiated an investigation into the incident following a formal complaint lodged by Anup Kumar, the co-pilot of the IndiGo aircraft. The internal committee is expected to assess the severity of the incident and decide on appropriate consequences for the accused passenger, potentially leading to his inclusion in the 'No Fly List' due to his disruptive behaviour.
