Jammu and Kashmir: Security beefed up in jails following terror strike intel
PTC News Desk: Security measures in the jail premises of Jammu and Kashmir have been heightened following the intel indicating a possible threat of terror strikes. Intelligence inputs suggest that high-security facilities such as Srinagar Central Jail and Kot Balwal Jail in Jammu could be potential targets.
Several high profile terrorists and members of sleeper cells are currently lodged in these jails wo are known to facilitate movements of terrorists and provide logistical support to the terrorists even though they are not directly involved in the attacks.
In connection with the ongoing Pahalgam terror probe in which 26 people died, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) recently questioned terror associates Nisar and Mushtaq, who were also linked to an Army vehicle attack case.
Earlier the central agency indicated that the terrorists may be hiding in South Kashmir. As per the reports, the terrorists seemed to be carrying extensive food supplies for their extended periods without requiring external logistical support.
