Jammu border clash: 2 BSF personnel injured as Pakistan Rangers open fire
Jammu, October 18: Two BSF personnel sustained injuries when Pakistan Rangers initiated unprovoked firing along the International Border (IB) near Jammu. The Pakistan Rangers began firing at approximately 8:15 am on Tuesday, targeting troops at the Vikram post in the Arnia sector. In response, BSF jawans retaliated. The incident resulted in two BSF personnel sustaining bullet injuries, and they were promptly provided with medical assistance.
The authorities plan to address this firing incident with the Pakistan Rangers and lodge a formal protest. According to sources, a sniper from the opposite Pakistan post of Iqbal and Khannor was employed to target the two BSF troopers. The victims were involved in electrification work near the post when the firing occurred.
On February 25, 2021, India and Pakistan had entered into a ceasefire agreement in which both nations committed to strictly adhere to all ceasefire agreements along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir and other sectors.
