Kailash Mansarovar Yatra hit as landslide leaves pilgrims stranded

PTC News Desk: A landslide on the Adi Kailash route has left hundreds of pilgrims stranded in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh district. The path has been completely blocked, leaving both pilgrims and locals unable to proceed. A Border Roads Organisation (BRO) team is already at the site, working to clear the debris and restore access as quickly as possible.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and relief operations are currently underway. The Adi Kailash Yatra is a revered Hindu pilgrimage in Uttarakhand’s Kumaon region, regarded as the second holiest among the 'Panch Kailash' (Five Kailash peaks).

Though much of the route can be traversed by vehicle, certain stretches require trekking. Situated at an elevation of 5,945 meters, the route is especially prone to landslides during the monsoon season.
