PTC Web Desk: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has suspended woman constable Kulwinder Kaur and lodged a complaint against her at the local police station for slapping actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh airport.

Notably, Kulwinder Kaur belongs to Mahiwal village in Kapurthala. Her brother Sher Singh is general secretary of the  Kisan Majdoor Sangharsh Committee, Kapurthala. Her mother was also a part of farm protest against the three farm laws.

A senior CISF officer confirmed the suspension and the filing of the complaint, stating, "We have taken immediate action by suspending the woman constable involved in the incident and have lodged a complaint with the local police to register an FIR."

The altercation reportedly took place when Kangana Ranaut was at the airport for a flight. Details of the incident are still emerging, but it has already sparked significant attention due to Kangana Ranaut's high profile as both a prominent actress and a political figure.

Actor Kangana Ranaut, who is also an MP from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi, claimed that a paramilitary constable slapped her during a mandatory security check at Chandigarh airport. The constable from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), identified as Kulwinder Kaur, reportedly stated that she slapped Kangana for "disrespecting" farmers, according to sources.

Kangana was traveling from Chandigarh to Delhi to collect her Parliament ID cards and the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) card ahead of her swearing-in ceremony on Sunday.

What Kulwinder Kaur says...

Kulwinder Kaur, the CISF constable who slapped Kangana Ranaut, has shared her reasons for the action. She said her motivation stemmed from personal ties to the farmers' protests. She said her mother was among the protesters camping on the borders of Delhi during the 2020-2021 demonstrations.

"She gave a statement that the farmers are sitting there for Rs 100. Will she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there and protesting when she gave this statement," she added.
