PTC News Desk: A Class 3 student's family said on Sunday that he was accused of stealing a pen at an ashram in Raichur, Karnataka, and that as punishment, he was beaten with firewood, tortured, and kept in a room for three days.

Venugopal, the in-charge, and his assistants severely injured Tarun Kumar, the youngster residing at the Ramakrishna Ashram in Raichur. The accused is the subject of a recorded case.

"A teacher, two older boys, and I got hit." They struck me with firewood, then used a bat to break it. They cut me on my body as well. The youngster described his ordeal: "They took me to Yagdir to beg for alms at the railway station, but I didn't receive any money."

Kumar reported being assaulted. "because of this one pen alone." The incident left the kid with severe injuries, including fully enlarged eyes. He is receiving treatment after being admitted to the hospital.

The boy's relatives claimed that the reason he was residing at the ashram was because of their difficult financial circumstances. The child was severely beaten by the ashram authorities after his classmates accused him of stealing a pen while he was playing. When Tarun's mother visited the Ramakrishna Ashram, the incident became public knowledge.

"Tarun Kumar is the name of my son. He attends Class 3. Arun Kumar, my other son, is a fifth grader. I dropped them both off to the ashram. My older son Arun told me about Tarun's attack and facial bruises when I went to see them," the mother remarked.

"He just picked up a pen that had fallen and placed it elsewhere," the mother said, refuting the claim that her son had stolen a pen.

"My son didn't have a pen, so on Saturday, another boy offered him the teacher's pen. The entire situation revolved around a pen, and the teacher discovered it with my kid when looking for it on Sunday, the instructor stated.

In addition, the mother claimed that if the boy was not disciplined for "stealing the pen," he would grow up to be a thief. People claim that my son has been reincarnated because of the teacher's extreme abuse of him. The instructor blindfolded my child, tied his hands, and struck him with two belts. In addition, the mother claimed that the teacher thrashed the boy till midnight and slashed his wrists and legs.

The boy has been saved, according to child rights campaigner Sudarshan, and the issue has been brought up with government representatives at the Ministry of Women and Children. According to him, a FIR has been filed against the suspects.
