PTC News Desk: A video of Durga Puja pandal in West Bengal’s Hooghly district has sparked massive outrage on social media for its disastrous Air India plane crash theme, sparking debate over artistic limits and sensitivity.

The viral video is doing rounds on social media that shows the pandal’s design featuring broken plan crashed into a building surrounded by debris and fake flames, replicating the tragedy.

The video has garnered over 3 lakh views triggering a wave of criticism with netizens criticising the attempt to turn a national tragedy into a festive attraction.

“How absolutely sad is that! How much trauma would it cause the families of the victims?" wrote one user. Another commented, “This is so, so bad … imagine how the loved ones of the deceased would feel seeing this."

So far, the organisers of the Hooghly pandal have not issued any statement or apology.

However, a Ganesh pandal in Nagpur had also created a similar replication, which relatively drew muted response.

The tragic incident unfolded on June 12 after a London-bound Air India flight crashed into the BJ Medical College hostel in Ahmedabad within seconds of take-off, leaving 260 people dead including 241 passengers and crew on board and 19 others on ground.
