PTC Web Desk:  Aman Bhainswal, a close aide of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and a wanted criminal in Haryana, has been deported from the United States and repatriated to India following coordinated efforts by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Interpol, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

Bhainswal, who was facing an Interpol Red Notice, was brought back to India on January 7 and taken into custody by a Haryana Police team at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

According to officials, Bhainswal is wanted in several serious criminal cases, including murder, rioting and criminal conspiracy. The Haryana Police had sought international assistance after he allegedly jumped bail and fled the country to evade trial.

Acting on a request from the state police, the CBI secured an Interpol Red Notice against him, which eventually led to his identification and tracking in the United States.

A CBI spokesperson said Bhainswal is a “notorious criminal” and a key operative of an organised crime network led by jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. “He was earlier arrested in India but later absconded after being released on bail. He deliberately avoided court proceedings and went underground,” the official added.

Following sustained coordination between Indian authorities and US agencies, Bhainswal was deported and handed over to Indian officials, marking a significant breakthrough in the case.
