PTC News Desk: The victory celebrations of India's triumph in ICC Champions Trophy 2025 took a violent turn after clashes erupted in Madhya Pradesh's Mhow on Sunday night.

The celebratory events were marred by stone pelting during a rally triggering a wave of clashes and arrest of 13 people subsequently.

Authorities have assured strict action against those involved in the incident, with the situation now under control. Police officials are scanning CCTV footage and mobile videos to identify those responsible for the violence.

According to the police reports, the violence erupted at five locations across Indore district. Several automobiles and two-wheelers were vandalised and burnt.

Some reports indicated that the violence originated from a dispute near a mosque, where rally participants clashed with another group over firecrackers. The confrontation escalated into physical fights and stone-pelting. However, police have stated that a thorough investigation will be conducted to determine the precise cause of the clashes.

Meanwhile, Indore Collector Ashish Singh stated that action under the stringent National Security Act (NSA) would be taken against some of the accused. "Peace has been restored, and no one involved in the violence will be spared. Strict action will follow," he said.
