Maharashtra government observes 'Veer Bal Diwas' to commemorate sacrifice of Chote Sahibzadas
PTC News Desk: Veer Bal Diwas was observed in Mumbai to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Chote Sahibzadas with entire community in attendance. The commemoration was organised jointly by Maharashtra Sikh Association, Supreme Council of Navi Mumbai Gurdwaras, Maharashtra State Punjabi Sahitya Academy, and the 11-member Sikh Coordination Committee.

Bal Malkiat Singh, President of the Maharashtra State Punjabi Sahitya Academy, said that Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji sacrificed his entire family for the protection of faith, humanity, and resistance against oppression. He stated that Veer Bal Diwas, which was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was today observed with devotion across India in accordance with that declaration.
He expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Modi for the honour and recognition given to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the younger Sahibzadas, and for taking steps to spread Sikh history among people across the country and preserve it for future generations.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also attended the event as a special guest and and paid tribute to the martyrdom of the younger Sahibzadas.

Remembering the sacrifices of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the Chief Minister announced that the Maharashtra government will continue to organise such commemorative programmes in the future.
He also announced that events would be organised to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The organising committees expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for the steps being taken in this direction.
