Malaysia snubs Pakistan's bid to derail India's Operation Sindoor outreach

PTC News Desk: In a bid to derail India's diplomatic outreach, Pakistan requested Malaysia to cancel all the Operation Sindoor outreach programmes, citing the "Kashmir matter in the UN".

While playing the religion card, Pakistan embassy urged Malaysian government officials  to cancel all 10 programmes by the Sanjay Jha-led delegation, saying, "We are an Islamic country, you are an Islamic country... don't listen to the Indian delegation, cancel all their programmes in Malaysia."

The Malaysia government turned down Pakistan's request and gave go ahead to all the 10 programmed scheduled by nine-member Indian delegation.

The Indian delegation to Malaysia led by JDU MP Sanjay Jha includes BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradan Baruah, and Hemang Joshi, Trinamool Congress's Abhishek Banerjee, CPM's John Brittas, Congress's Salman Khurshid, and former Indian Ambassador to Bahrain and France, Mohan Kumar. The delegation interacted with Malaysia's People's Justice Party  led by YB Sim Tze Tzin -- a former minister in Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad's cabinet -- and emphasised India's "resolute approach" under Operation Sindoor, while reiterating its zero-tolerance stance on terrorism.

While addressing the Indian diaspora in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee said that India should only engage in dialogue with Pakistan when it is ready to hand over Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
