Uttarakhand : Amid the torrential rains in Uttarakhand, various districts of Uttarakhand have experienced disruptions and flood-like conditions.

A massive landslide occurred at around 12:15 pm on Wednesday on the Badrinath National Highway in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, causing significant disruption to vehicular movement and resulting in a road blockage on National Highway-7, Joshimath-Badrinath.

Vehicular movement has been completely halted, stranding many travelers and creating logistical challenges for both locals and visitors.

The video posted by Chamoli Police Uttarakhand on their X handle shows a large piece of the boulder tumbling down the hill, eventually blocking the route.

On Tuesday, a similar occurrence occurred on the highway, causing a roadblock near Chundu Dhar in Joshimath.

The Meteorological Centre in Uttarakhand has predicted heavy rainfall over several parts of the state.

The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in many places, with extremely heavy rainfall in isolated areas in the Kumaon region. Heavy rains are also expected in the Chamoli, Rudraprayag, and Pauri districts of Uttarakhand.

The weather report also predicts heavy rains in the Dehradun, Tehri, Haridwar, and Uttarkashi districts on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the ongoing Char Dham Yatra has been temporarily suspended in Uttarakhand due to relentless and incessant rainfall in Uttarakhand.
