According to Meghalaya Director General of Police (DGP) Idashisha Nongrang, four people, including Sonam Raghuvanshi, have been arrested in connection with the killing of 28-year-old Raja Raghuvanshi.

Meghalaya mystery solved: Indore woman among 4 arrested for husband's murder

PTC News Desk: The missing wife of Indore man who was found dead in Meghalaya during their honeymoon has been arrested for allegedly orchestrating her husband's murder. 


According to Meghalaya Director General of Police (DGP) Idashisha Nongrang, four people, including Sonam Raghuvanshi, have been arrested in connection with the killing of 28-year-old Raja Raghuvanshi. The DGP said Sonam allegedly hired the killers and conspired in her husband's murder during their honeymoon.

The couple recently got married and arrived in Meghayala for their honeymoon in May where they visited several locations. They were last seen in on May 23 in Sohra (Cherrapunjee) area following which an extensive search was launched after they were reported missing.

Earlier on June 2 the body of Raja Raghuvanshi was discovered in deep gorge. During the initial probe, a local tourist guide told police that the couple had been seen with three other men on the day of their disappearance.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma also took to social media to commend the swift progress in the case.

"Within 7 days, a major breakthrough has been achieved by the Meghalaya Police in the Raja murder case. Three assailants from Madhya Pradesh have been arrested, the female has surrendered, and the operation is still on to catch one more assailant. Well done Meghalaya Police," Sangma posted.
