Merry Christmas 2023: PM Modi extends greetings on Xmas, recalls 'noble teachings of Lord Christ'
Merry Christmas 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his Christmas greetings to the people of the country on Monday, wishing them peace and prosperity. He also recalled Jesus Christ's noble teachings.
"Merry Christmas to everyone! May the festive season bring you joy, peace, and prosperity. Let us celebrate the spirit of peace and compassion that Christmas symbolises, and work together to create a world where everyone is happy and healthy. We also recall Lord Christ's noble teachings," PM Modi said.
People across the country celebrated Christmas Eve by holding mass midnight prayers in various states. In Madhya Pradesh, churches were lit up and people even set off firecrackers to celebrate the winter festival.
On Christmas Eve, midnight mass prayers were held at Delhi's Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church. Prayers were also held at Bengaluru's St. Francis Xavier's Cathedral.
Christmas is an annual religious and cultural event observed by billions of people worldwide on December 25th to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Carol singing, twinkling Christmas lights, and decked-out Christmas trees all entice people to join in the fun on Monday.
