Modi's visit to Uttarakhand: Religious rites and launching of multiple development initiatives
Uttarakhand, October 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a significant visit to the Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand, where he immersed himself in religious ceremonies, engaged with the local community and security forces, and inaugurated various development projects valued at approximately Rs 4,200 crore. This visit demonstrated the Indian government's commitment to the welfare and rapid development of the Devbhoomi Uttarakhand region.
During his visit, PM Modi had the honor of offering prayers at Parvati Kund and receiving blessings from the holy Adi-Kailash, an iconic site renowned for its spiritual significance and natural beauty. The day commenced with his arrival in Jolingkong, a village in Pithoragarh district, at 8:30 am, where he participated in religious rituals at Parvati Kund.

Following the spiritual engagement, the Prime Minister proceeded to Gunji village in Pithoragarh at around 9:30 am. Here, he interacted with the local residents, explored an exhibition highlighting the art and products of the region, and expressed gratitude to the dedicated personnel of the Indian Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
Around noon, PM Modi reached the renowned Jageshwar Dham in the Almora district, known for its stone temples, perched at an altitude of approximately 6,200 feet. The visit was marked by reverence and spiritual significance.
The highlight of the day came at approximately 2:30 pm when the Prime Minister arrived in Pithoragarh. Here, he inaugurated, dedicated to the nation, and laid the foundation stone for an array of development projects encompassing sectors such as rural development, road infrastructure, power generation, irrigation, drinking water supply, horticulture, education, healthcare, and disaster management, among others.
These projects included 76 rural roads and 25 bridges as part of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). Additionally, the government unveiled 15 new buildings designated for Block Development Offices (BDO) in nine districts, thereby fortifying the administrative infrastructure of the region. PM Modi's visit underscored the government's unwavering commitment to the well-being and prosperity of Uttarakhand's people and the advancement of the state.
